1. Case Overview
The client was indicted on charges of participating in a planned and organized voice phishing fraud scheme targeting multiple unspecified individuals. 3. Court's Decision Result
The appellate division of the Suwon District Court accepted Law Firm Theo's defense and overturned the portion of the original judgment pertaining to the client. The court comprehensively considered all sentencing conditions, including the client's deep remorse, the settlement with the victim, the fact that the crime occurred only once with a relatively small financial loss, and the client's poor health condition. As a result, the court overturned the original 8-month prison sentence and sentenced the client to 6 months in prison, suspended for 2 years from the date the judgment becomes final, allowing the client to be immediately released.
