1. Case Overview
The client (complainant) was deceived by an acquaintance (the accused) who falsely flaunted the title of a team leader at a major corporate financial firm, claiming there was a "high-yield asset management product available exclusively for executives and their families." Deceived by the assurance that the product was highly secure and profitable, the client transferred a substantial sum of 23,250,000 KRW in 31 installments to the accused's personal bank account between December 2020 and April 2023.

When the client requested the return of the principal due to personal circumstances, the accused evaded immediate repayment and proposed an unreasonable installment plan spanning two years. Notably, while returning small fractional amounts, the accused maliciously and meticulously attempted to conceal the fraud by manipulating the depositor's name to read "MET" or "Asset Division," falsely making it appear as though official dividends were being paid through the financial product's legitimate system.

Law Firm Theo sharply analyzed the objective financial transaction records to dismantle the accused's deceptive concealment attempts.
- We proved that all investment funds were received in the accused's personal account rather than a corporate entity account.
- We captured KakaoTalk conversations and transaction records showing typographical errors made when the accused manually altered the depositor's name (e.g., writing "Asset Division 15" instead of "Asset Division 14"). This thoroughly exposed that the payments were manual transfers by the accused, not official automated system disbursements.

4. Result of Assistance
Accepting Law Firm Theo's meticulous evidence analysis and persistent legal arguments, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office acknowledged all fraud charges against the accused and issued a 'Summary Indictment' on July 22, 2026. This is a meaningful case where we successfully led the prosecution's indictment by sharply analyzing objective evidence, such as manipulated transfer records, in a sophisticated financial impersonation scam that abused a relationship of trust and a corporate job title.
